Young Leaders Focus on Land & Livestock

Brett’s roots in the cattle business run deep. Cattle have played a major role in every aspect of his life, but he has a new love and a passion that goes beyond just raising cattle. He and his wife Chantel own McRae Land & Livestock in south-western Manitoba. Not only are they focused on what’s best for their cattle, but they are also finding synergies where conservation, agriculture and nature overlap. Using the five principals of soil health and regenerative agriculture practices, their goal is to sequester more carbon and and efficiently use the cows to upcycle inedible crops into high quality human edible protein.
