On this family farm the roots run deep. They respect the land, their animals, and each other. At High Bluff Stock Farm near Inglis, Manitoba being a female farmer is nothing new or novel. Erin Jackson is the 5th generation of both her mom and her dad’s families to farm in the parkland region. She grew up with many strong farmer role models including her mom, her grandmothers and aunts. She has 4 sisters who contribute to the success of the farm in their own ways, as well. She’s a farmer – full stop – and she doesn’t feel the need to qualify her role by gender. She currently farms with her mom and dad, Donna & Carman, as well as her husband Stephen. They raise cattle and grow crops like canola. They are passionate about sharing their farm story with those who are interested in learning more about where their food comes from. They are proud to share their food with the world and they want the world to know how much care goes into raising it. When she’s not busy on the farm, Erin enjoys traveling because she loves meeting new people, exploring different cultures and finding connections with people who have a different lived experience than her own.
