Pork Provides

Manitoba’s pork producers know that “everyone deserves a high quality piece of protein on their plate”. The Manitoba Pork Council and its members have been supporting charitable causes and organizations that improve the quality of life for Manitobans for years. Recently, Manitoba Pork announced a new partnership that will benefit 18 rural and urban food banks in our province. This partnership includes $150,000 investment of freezers and ground pork supplied to Harvest Manitoba and their partner organizations over the next 3 years. Fresh and frozen meat is one of the most sought after items a food bank can receive. Having a guaranteed supply of ground pork means food banks will be able to consistently provide their clients with balanced meals. Harvest Manitoba is the 3rd largest food distribution service of its kind in Canada. They have experienced a 150% increase in demand over the last 18 months. Farmers like Jeroen, are helping ensure that all Manitobans, including those who are experiencing food insecurity, have access to nutritious local ingredients.
