Farmers Kenn

Kenn studied veterinary medicine and worked in pork production in the Philippines, but both he and his wife had to work away from home separated from their family for months at a time. In 2009 Ken had the opportunity to come to Canada as an agricultural worker. He was welcomed with open arms into the tiny Westman village that he still calls home today. His wife, Rowena, and other family members were able to join him over the next few years. Kenn’s a proud Filipino Canadian and credits his first job as a swine technician as “the opportunity of a lifetime”. Now that they are both in management roles at the farm, Kenn and Rowena have made it their mission to help other immigrant workers transition to life in Canada.
