Farmers have been stewards of the land for decades, and that responsibility extends to the entire agricultural sector. Maple Leaf Foods is on a journey to becoming the most sustainable food company in the world. They have committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030. At the company level they are doing this by reducing water and energy consumption, supporting green energy projects, finding efficiencies in production and following Manitoba’s strict manure management regulations. They are also empowering their team members to make individual contributions that will reduce their emissions at home and at work.
