Many of the farmers we have met are defined by agricultural traditions that have been in their families for generations, but that doesn’t mean they are stuck in the past. By better managing the land and resources in their care, and embracing new technology, today’s farms are often much more efficient than they were a generation ago.
The Toews family is building a sustainable business while paying tribute to where it all began. They are the perfect example of why farm families are stronger together, than they would be running individual enterprises, and they have adopted strip-tillage and cover cropping practices to help reduce soil erosion on their farm.
