- 2 lb (1000 g) or about 12 drumsticks
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) oregano
- 1 tsp (5 ml) ground black pepper
- 1 tsp (5 ml) thyme
- 1 tsp (5 ml) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (5 ml) onion powder
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) paprika
- 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) cayenne
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) butter, melted
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Add dry Cajun spice ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.
- Place drumsticks in a single layer in a pan.
- Melt butter and brush evenly on drumsticks.
- Season drumsticks generously with Cajun spice mixture by rolling drumsticks in spice blend to ensure all sides are evenly coated.
- Transfer drumsticks to a baking pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven turn and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until internal temperature of thickest part of drumstick reads 165°F on a meat thermometer.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
