Generosity Grows on the Farm

Leory and his family raise turkeys on their Manitoba farm. Inspired by his father, who was always willing to help out in their home country of Belize, Leroy also spends his free time serving the community as chief of the local fire department. It’s an important job that Leroy takes a lot of pride in. Many rural communities rely on volunteer fire departments to keep their residents safe. Farmers often fill these roles because they are entrepreneurs who are in control of their own schedule and workload. Giving back is important to Leroy and his wife Karen, in order to model good citizenship for their children. This farm family isn’t just giving back locally, they are supporting those in need internationally as well.
